Begin the month of March with the Sacramento SPCA (SSPCA) by attending one, two, or all three SSPCA events this week. From new volunteer orientation to an estate-planning seminar to mobile adoptions, the SSPCA is rolling out a diverse lineup of events this week.
Find out how you can share your spare time with the dogs and cats of the SSPCA during the SSPCA new volunteer orientation. The event will take place Monday, March 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gracie’s Adoption Center. Volunteer applications will be available at the orientation. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age but youth group activities and community service projects that can be done at home are available as well. View a list of current available volunteer positions at http://www.sspca.org/PositionsAvailable.html. For questions about becoming an SSPCA volunteer, call the volunteer hotline at (916) 383-387, extension 9133.
On Tuesday, March 2, be sure to check out the SSPCA’s estate-planning seminar. We all know it’s important to provide for our loved ones, but that includes our pets too. The seminar will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please call (916) 383-7387, extension 9103, for reservations.
At the end of the week, from Friday, March 5 through Sunday March 7, the SSPCA’s Mobile Adoption will be on hand at the Sacramento Home and Garden show, which will be held at Cal Expo. Stop by and visit with some of the SSPCA’s adoptable animals. Mobile Adoption will also be at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center Animal House show in Carmichael on Saturday March 13 from 12 to 4 p.m. and at the Kings’ basketball games as part of the Collared by the Kings promotion on Friday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 16.
It’s obvious that there are many opportunities to show your support for the SSPCA this month. For more information about the SSPCA, please visit http://www.sspca.org/.
